MODERN JAPANESE CERAMICS

ВЫСТАВКА СОВРЕМЕННОЙ ЯПОНСКОЙ КЕРАМИКИ

On September 7, Booroom Gallery, together with the architect and collector Irina Sokolova, opened an exhibition of modern Japanese ceramics.

Japanese ceramics is one of the most striking phenomena of the decorative and applied arts of the Eastern world. The uniqueness of the craft is defined by the long tradition and  the variety of styles. Japanese ceramics had and continue to have a significant impact on contemporary artists all over the world. The ancient art evokes the principle of elegance in simplicity — kanshō, and the wabi-sabi aesthetics, which emphasizes the beauty in imperfection. In a world of high intensity of events, it becomes an opportunity to slow down and feel the moment.

The works shown at the exhibition are included in renowned collections in the USA, Australia, France and England. The multifaceted world of Japanese art is presented by the creations of famous artisans made in the Bizen, Oribe, Hagi and Shino styles.
